Wood is recruiting for a Senior Automation Site Engineer (SAE) to join a key project within our Systems Integration team. 
This is a site-based position based in Chorley where there will be travel to customer sites and face to face meetings as required. 
Must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Role 
The Senior Automation Site Engineer will be responsible for identifying the Automation and Controls requirements and defining the solutions for the client to support the success of the Automation upgrade. As the SAE you will present with expect knowledge cross one of these Automation Technical Areas – Allen Bradley ControlLogix experience preferable including Studio 5000, Rockwell PLC, SCADA, Cyber Security, Network Design 
Within the role, you will be the SAE who is responsibility of being the key interface between the project’s software engineers and the lead engineer, ensuring the team are working towards current deliverables, provide accurate progress tracking/reporting and attend regular meetings with both internal and external stakeholders. 
This opportunity is ideal for an individual who has previously been involved in brownfield upgrades and/or replacements specifically within automation and control projects and has the capability to develop a program from the ground up.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities

Provides expertise in at least one Automation Technical Area, PLC, SCADA, Cyber Security, Network Design
Responsible for fault finding and commissioning of Automation and Control solutions at the client’s site
Implements software patch releases and software upgrades
Supports the Lead Engineer in accomplishing project objectives
Applies integration concepts to a wide variety of systems and across multiple vendor platforms
Installation and Commissioning of automation project design 
Implements the configuration, database and / or programming activities for assigned activities
Resolves specialty related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards

Expected

Minimum BSc Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience
Significant experience and competency in Automation and Control Engineering
Good general knowledge of each Automation and Control engineering discipline
Detailed experience with multiple system implementation project and / or control system platforms
Experience in Brownfield upgrades / replacement automation and control projects
Rockwell PLC and SCADA systems experience 
Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices, methodologies and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications
Knowledge of modern automation and control applications, tools, methodologies, or equal training/experience

Desirable   

Experience of Microsoft SQL would be advantageous
