The Role
Wood’s Consulting business group is currently seeking a Field Vibration Analyst/Engineer to join our Condition Monitoring team in the US. This is a permanent position with the first 2 to 3 years will being a predominantly site-based position, with the expectation to work out of a client facility 5 days a week near New Orleans, LA. This role provides excellent learning opportunities to grow in the machinery diagnostics, condition monitoring and reliability world, and is an opportunity to work with industry-leading machinery and vibration experts. Suitable for a dynamic individual, who is entrepreneurial and interested in consultative work.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilitiesSupport implementation and improvement of rotating equipment condition monitoring programs (vibration, lubrication, and thermography) including on-site data collection, analysis and recommendations for corrective actionSupport implementation and improvement of rotating and reciprocating equipment monitoring programs including on-site data collection, analysis and recommendations for corrective actionConduct field measurements of vibration data and analysis, related to rotating equipment primarily, using different data acquisition hardware and software applicationsWork independently or as part of a team, on client sites, conducting routine data collection activities, and occasionally troubleshooting vibration issues across machinery, piping and/or structuresIdentify opportunities to improve client equipment reliability, availability and/or performance, collaborating with clients to turn insights to their advantagePrepare written reports of analysis findings including recommendations for corrective actionsImplement and adhere to Wood – Vibration, Dynamics & Noise (VDN) HSSE policies and best practices at all work sitesEffectively manage assigned tasks / projects to ensure on time delivery, within scope and budget, while meeting the client’s expectationsCommunicate with supervisors, co-workers, and team about on-going work and schedulesAssist in maintaining and developing client relationships, including developing new business opportunitiesSupport the continuous improvement of systems and processes

Expected: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a Technologist Diploma (in the Mechanical discipline) is preferred, however applicants with relevant work experience and Vibration certification will be considered.Must have work experience in rotating machinery vibration data collection and analysis.A minimum of 2 years of work experience in machinery vibration analysis Must have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills in English, combined with the ability to interact and engage with clients and internal stakeholdersMust be detail-oriented with strong analysis skills (ie. quickly interpret key client evidence) combined with the ability to write high quality technical reportsCommitted to a culture of Safety in the workplaceMust have a strong interest in vibration and dynamics, performance, and reliabilityKeen to develop strong consulting capability whilst engaging with clientsA keen interest in data analytics and business intelligence toolsMust have valid Driver’s license and be available to travel to client facilities for 40% to 50% of the timeMust be US citizen or authorized to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from WoodDesirable:VCAT 2 knowledge and experienceKnowledge of Scout analyzer and System
