Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting an experienced and visionaryAdvanced Manufacturing Technologies (MES) Solution Architect Managerlocated in Santa Clara, CA with 20% travel to lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge manufacturing systems. This role bridges the gap between IT and OT, ensuring seamless integration of advanced technologies like IoT, Industry 4.0, MES, digital twins, and automation with enterprise systems to support smart, efficient, and data-driven manufacturing operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRODUCT VISION, STRATEGY AND ARCHITECTURE
• Develop and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on business needs, aligning with RAD SC MAKE IT objectives and ensuring effective stakeholder communication.
• Ensure site digital products align with global product categories to maximize business value and facilitate standardization across sites.
• Design end-to-end MES architectures and solutions tailored to discrete, process, or hybrid manufacturing environments.
• Define and document integration frameworks between MES, ERP, PLM, SCADA, IoT platforms, and shop-floor equipment.
• Lead architecture assessments and solution blueprints for digital manufacturing transformation initiatives.
• Evaluate, select, and recommend emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML for predictive quality, AR/VR for training, IIoT platforms) for deployment across manufacturing.
• Translate business needs into scalable, cost-effective, and secure system designs.
• Guide MES configuration/customization, ensuring alignment with ISA-95, ISA-88, and industry best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Bachelor’s / equivalent degree required with specialization in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering is preferred
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Required:
• At least 10 years of Demonstrated ability in Medical Devices, Hi-tech and Pharma Manufacturing, which includes MES products like Camstar Insite, OpsCenter and other Factory information systems etc.
• Experienced with large, global projects and is responsible for the overall quality of delivery on the assigned project including technical upgrades
• Complete life cycle implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) on one MES COTS product.
• Experience in Solution Architecture, Designer and generating reports using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
• Experience in owning the requirements definition and MES implementation of the Factory Model
• Domain experience in Medical Devices and Discrete Manufacturing
• Knowledge of interfaces with the MES application and external applications like ERP, EFT’s, HMI including Open connectors
• Should have a fair understanding of the computer systems and manufacturing validations process (CSV, Change Management).
• Knowledge of SQL, Data base structure along with Data collection points
• Technical skills set such as MES Domain, MES Designer, Developer
PREFERRED:
• Certification on Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
• Knowledge of Cloud architecture with code management and installation with best practices
• IoT capabilities via Insights Hub and Process Automation Controller to connect and collect data from sensors and equipment
• AI and machine learning to analyze data, optimizing processes and utilizing insights to improve manufacturing operations through automation solutions
• Understanding of digital threads for data modeling, simulation, and execution.
• Familiar with Smart manufacturing digital thread integrates systems such as OpsCenter MES, SAP ERP, Easy Plan, Plant Simulation, Process Simulation, and SCADA.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$114,000-$197,800
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
