Join our innovative team as an IT/OT engineer and be involved in every aspect of the development of automatic cranes. This ranges from realizing innovative ideas within projects, commissioning, support and maintenance off the IT / OT network and OT datacenter components within projects.
The role requires that you have a strong affinity towards cybersecurity within OT and IT landscapes as you create, build, and implement cyber secure solutions. As a team member of the IT discipline you to take ownership and drive the following topics internally within the department, our customers and partners of Siemens cranes: OT / IT network implementation, cybersecurity, compliance and standards and support.
The Cranes team works on complex projects dealing with the integration of a diverse set of systems, protocols and requirements such as automation and subsystem software, S7 PLC’s, HMI systems, SCADAs and virtualization & high availability solutions. A typical project last for 1 to 2 years and is realized with development / design in the Netherlands & Germany followed by pre-commissioning in China and is finalized at the end customer location. After completion of the project, you will train the customer and their own service team on how to securely operate the solution within their environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Network and Cybersecurity:
• implementing robust OT/IT network architectures for crane automation;
• maintaining cybersecurity protocols;
• conducting regular security assessments and updates within projects.
• System Integration and Support:
• integrating and ensuring compatibility of diverse systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, virtualized solution);
• providing expert troubleshooting and support during commissioning phases.
• Project Execution:
• conducting on-site commissioning, configure, test, and document solutions;
• ensuring compliance with Siemens internal and industry standards;
• identifying and proposing technological improvements.
• Training and Collaboration:
• training customers and their service teams on system operation and maintenance;
• collaborating with multi-functional teams across multiple regions to ensure project success.
Working on international projects requires travel for short periods of time to the customers location all over the world, estimated to be approximately 15% of your time.

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in (Technical) Computer science, Electrical engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in/Knowledge of IT and OT networks, cyber security, datacenter or equivalent (in an industrial environment preferable). Experience with /willing to learn cyber security according to IEC62443 and ISO standards.
• Bonus points: NetOps technologies like: Python and Ansible, virtualization knowledge: VMware or MS certification.
• Relevant experience with selecting and configuring: active directory and cloud environments.
• Ability to write clear and concise documentation (such as requirements, design and testing procedures).
• Business fluent in English, Dutch is also very welcome.
