We are looking for a Software Technical Project Manager, to work alongside our highly skilled team in Crawley and manage projects delivering components of the Permasense software stack.
In this role you will be responsible for the planning and execution of all project-related activities for new products based on existing and new technologies in the Corrosion & Erosion business. A critical part of this role is the ability to establish a detailed project plan and drive progress and communication across the functional areas. You will lead in designing and implementing solutions for exciting and important projects delivering new functionality to our core software product.

In this role your main responsibilities will be:
As a project manager:
• Lead all aspects of the projects, provides work direction, resolves conflicts, fosters cooperation and communication among team members to assure achievement of objectives.
• Assure proper participation and communication among engineering, test, documentation, marketing, and others as appropriate.
• Monitor progress against plan, take corrective action where necessary and report on progress.
• Establish project scope, schedule, staff needs to achieve project objectives, and updates them as necessary.
• Manage one or more core project teams from the appropriate functional groups.
• Motivate and assist team members to work in a professional manner in line with established goals and contribute to a good working environment.
• Collaborate with product management to refine the solution and program portfolio
As a technical lead:
• Develop system microservices using C# and Python to support new features.
• Create, implement, and document comprehensive tests (unit, automated integration, manual, end-to-end) to enhance testing efficiency and reduce costs.
• Design database schemas and develop databases using SQL Server and Postgres.
• Build database access layers using ORMs: Entity Framework Core for C#/.NET Core and SQLAlchemy for Python.
• Collaborate with support teams on technical issues and engage directly with customers to understand their requirements.

Required qualifications & experience
• A strong academic record – degree qualified in computer science, physics, mathematics or similar;
• Core expertise in developing with C#, Python and SQL;
• Experience in working on large or complex projects using language and framework features (classes, interfaces, composition, events, delegates, data binding, multi-threading, networking layers and component architecture, SQL alchemy for database access etc.);
• Good knowledge of SQL, including MS SQL server and postgres and their ORMs;
• Ability to resolve issues, make decisions and provide advice and guidance to project team members;
Preferred qualifications to set you apart:
• Knowledge in Project Management Techniques
• Previous experience working in a matrix organisation.
