Job Description

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer with extensive experience in the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical Industry on contract basis. Hybrid working – 3 days working from Sir Ian Wood House in Aberdeen

Responsibilities

The Role

Coordinates, and leads delivery of project(s) through coordinating and delivering the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning to the agreed schedule
Monitors and supports compliance with quality, HSE and assurance standards.
Undertakes basic schedule preparation, planning and resource forecasting for engineering activities relating to the project.
Ensures accurate. timely, and predictable delivery of work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
Alerts Delivery Manager in the event of potential delays or change; supports implementation of approved changes.
Coordinates and assures technical excellence of interdisciplinary project deliverables.

 
Key responsibilities  

Coordinates discipline input to deliverables to ensure plan attainment 
Ensures Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) implementation by review against standards, procedures, work practices and literature.
Prepares project plans and multi-discipline documents such as basis of design, subcontract scopes of work.
Plans individual work activities and manages time; liaises with disciplines to ensure timely receipt of comments.
Coordinate inputs to and issue engineering deliverables such as Designs, Reports etc, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Execute assigned project scope in accordance with the project engineering manhour budget and schedule requirements
Coordinate engineering activities performed by others
Under guidance, prepares project-specific procedures
Report on progress issues and act as representative with Client as needed
Fully understand the requirements of the project schedule and hold regular reviews and ensure plan and cost attainment.
Expedite Engineers to deliver to schedule, fully understand reasons for delay and assist in developing recovery plans.
Alerts Delivery Manager in the event of potential delays or change Design Verification

Qualifications

Who we are looking for:

Preferably formal project management training either PMP or APM certification
Extensive experience of delivering brownfield modifications for UK / North Sea assets, offshore or onshore
Extensive experience gained either as a discipline engineer in a project environment or in more junior project engineering roles
Good understanding of technical work scope, key dates, and milestones
Familiar with project contractual and commercial requirements
Fully conversant with project scopes and work carried out by all engineering disciplines
Understands the concept of customer satisfaction and is able to deliver to internal customers, including other Engineering disciplines
Understands and knows how to apply the procedures and work practices which define and govern Project Engineering deliverables
Understands the importance of Project Engineering deliverables and the need for accuracy and timely issue
Commercially astute and aware of the importance of change control
Has a good knowledge of engineering standards, procedures and work practices; follows project execution flow chart; developing skills in project and technical execution
Able to lead small teams; develops skills of leadership with minimum intervention from manager
