Job Description

Wood is currently Recruiting for the role of Senior Project Engineer for our Project in Qatar.
The Senior Project Engineer is the principal member of the Portfolio Delivery Manager’s project team and, as such, assists in the management functions of the project delegated to them. The primary responsibility for the Senior Project Engineer is for the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical and commercial aspects of the work safely, with quality and within schedule and budget objectives. 

Responsibilities

 

The Senior Project Engineer also ensures that the customer criteria and scope of work are being met by all engineering disciplines. 
The Senior Project Engineer is functionally responsible to the Portfolio Delivery Manager.
The Senior Project Engineer may be assisted by the assignment of Project Engineers.
Deliver assigned projects from Assess to Execute including hand‐over to Operations and formal closeout (Construction & Commissioning management shall be by Company, however the Senior Project Engineer shall be responsible for interface management with the relevant Company teams in delivery of the project).
Deliver Goal Zero on assigned projects with Focus on HSE, quality and process safety throughout the project lifecycle Organize HAZOP(s) / HAZIDs and follow up closeout of mitigation actions in order to demonstrate ALARP.
Prepare scope packages for the execute contracts.
Manage the subcontractors / vendors and will act as the prime focal point for these for the assigned projects.
Develop and implement effective progress and budget control and reporting.
Identify, assess and manage project risks following effective risk management plan and demonstrating ALARP
Develop, share and incorporate lessons learnt throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Adhere to Project Management of Change Procedures to sustain engineering design integrity.
Comply with Quality Control & Quality Assurance systems to cover the design, implementation and commissioning phases of Projects.
Ensure that as built documentation are uploaded into the AIMs.
Promote safe working culture lead by example.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering 
Professional Engineer or engineering chartership preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent qualification preferred 
Minimum 15 years experience in Oil and Gas Industry
Minimum 10 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas related project engineering position with multidiscipline workforce
Minimum 5 years experience in Brown Field Oil and Gas Project Delivery as a Umbrella Contract Senior Project Engineer
Fully understands technical work scopes including commercial aspects and has working knowledge of specifications and standards. 
Completely familiar with project Contractual and Commercial requirements and able to communicate these to less experienced project engineers. 
Fully conversant with project scopes and work carried out by all engineering disciplines and various interface and inter discipline coordination requirements among the various disciplines including procurement and construction., and able to communicate those to less experienced project engineers.
Understands the concept of customer satisfaction and is able to deliver to internal customers, including other Engineering disciplines.
Understands and knows how to apply the procedures and work practices which define and govern Engineering Management and Project Engineering deliverables
Understands the importance of Project Engineering deliverables documents and the need for accuracy and timely issue Commercially astute and able to implement Change control.
Has a good knowledge of standards, procedures and work practices; follows project execution flow chart; good skills in project and technical execution. 
Able to lead Project Engineering team; able to manage between Engineering Discipline Groups.
Good communicator in leading work effort; motivates team; positive and active in solutions and proactive attitude.
Competent at managing technical matters and interfaces with Third Parties.
Has focus on customer satisfaction for both internal and external customers. Actively seeks feedback.
Able to drive project area to completion, taking ownership for all that occurs within it 
Actively looks to develop skills; monitors work done by others and provides positive feedback to improve 
Able to adapt to changing priorities
Good communicator verbally and in written form
