Overview:

We are seeking an experiencedSenior Process Engineerwith strong topside systems expertise to join a major offshore project based in Kuala Lumpur. This is a key position focused on delivering critical process engineering work across the full project lifecycle-from design to commissioning-on a high-value floating production system.

You’ll play an active role in technical design, vendor evaluation, interface management, safety participation, and team mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and interpret project-specific specs, international codes, classification society rules, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and review design philosophies, technical specifications, PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, heat and material balances, flare studies, and other key process documents.
• Conduct independent evaluations of technical bids from suppliers and support package engineers in vendor selection.
• Produce essential process documentation including simulation reports, line lists, setpoint lists, utility summaries, and cause & effect charts.
• Solve technical challenges using sound engineering judgment and industry best practices.
• Attend and contribute to HAZOP/safety meetings, explain process system design, and close out recommendations.
• Participate in meetings with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and classification bodies; raise and resolve interface issues to keep deliverables on track.
• Provide process engineering support during construction, commissioning, and offshore phases-including troubleshooting and follow-up.
• Capture lessons learned and document them using internal knowledge systems.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in the team.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of process engineering experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably in offshore or FPSO projects.
• Proficient with topside process systems and simulation tools.
• Strong familiarity with international design codes and offshore classification standards.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently across multiple engineering work packages.
• Strong communicator, detail-oriented, and team-driven.
• Able to support site/offshore phases when required.
