Job Description
Wood is currently sourcing for a Senior Instrument Engineer with strong brownfield oil & gas EPC experience to join our team in the Philippines.
Contributes to the delivery of Engineering excellence through:
Actively participates in Competency and Training
Providing discipline expertise to the business
Executing assigned scopes of work
Supporting task delegation to team
Delivering against contract Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and business objectives
Responsibilities
People:
Provides coaching, training, and mentoring as delegated
Process Ownership:
Adherence to the discipline specific procedures and providing feedback for continuous improvement
Support the development and delivery of the technical safety standard expectations and technical assurance
Participate in audits & incident investigations as required
Represent Operations Wood Philippines discipline in the contract
Actively maintaining own competence and continuous development
Subject Matter Expertise:
Technically competent in instrumentation and control and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
Provide discipline support to the business
Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments and promote to direct reports
Provide discipline input to scope definition and execution
General:
Executing assigned personal objectives
Interact with Multi-Discipline Engineering Teams
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering and PRC licensed (BSECE, BSEE, BSChE, BSI&CE)
Preferably Chartered Engineer or recognized equivalent
5+ years’ industrial engineering experience in process plant instrumentation field
Hands on experience of multi-disciplinary projects in Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering of field Instrumentation, Control & Monitoring and Safety Shutdown Systems, including DCS, ESD and F&G, in the onshore / offshore O&G, petrochemical, energy environment
Working knowledge of IEC, ISO, ISA, API, ANSI and other International Codes and Standards
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
Minimum Experience:
Demonstrable balance of industrial and management experience at relevant level and position
Should have hands on experience in SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI)
Working knowledge of AVEVA instrumentation and SP3D/E3D preferred
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite

Preparation of Instrumentation engineering deliverables including Specifications, Instrument Datasheets, Logic Diagrams, etc.
Carryout sizing calculations for Control Valves, Flow Meters, Pneumatic & Hydraulic Power Systems
Instrument cable voltage drop & Intrinsically Safe Circuit Calculations
Preparation of Fire & Gas Detectors & Alarm Device Datasheets
Provide inputs and review of engineering drawings including Instrument Location Plans, Cable & JB Schedules, Cable Routing Layouts, Instrument Installation Details, Process / Pneumatic Hook-Ups, Interconnection Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, Fieldbus Segment Diagrams, Interconnection Diagrams, Instrument Loop Diagrams, etc.
Review Instrumentation and Control Systems Vendors offers, prepare Vendor Technical Clarifications, and prepare Technical Bid Evaluation reports
