We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer specialized in Transformers to join our passionate and growing Quality & Reliability team for Medium-Voltage Drives in Aleksandrów Łódzki, Poland. Our mission is to assure superb quality and reliability for our products. We do that by understanding the design and eliminating risks with the manufacturing process, testing and analyzing every failed part, uncovering failure causes, and proposing solutions to make each drive that leaves our factory, better than the one before. We collaborate daily in a global environment and work closely with the respective research & development, product engineering, customer support, quality assurance, supplier chain and production functions.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Understand transformer requirement specifications and design documentation. Evaluate design proposals, whether they meet specifications without being over dimensioned.
• Understand design trade-offs and their direct influences on cost, size, and efficiency.
• Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) effectively.
• Assess manufacturing operations and identify potential risks and improvement areas. Assure the quality and reliability of ABB transformers.
• Evaluate production control plans including inspection points, control checklists, process documentation.
• Evaluate testing methods and result documentation.
• Support root-cause analyses in case of failures and evaluate corrective actions and improvement plans.
• Work closely with ABB suppliers to conduct process audits and product qualifications.

Qualifications for the role:

• M.Sc. in electrical engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as an electrical engineer, including at least 2 years in the field of
• medium-voltage transformer design and/or manufacturing.
• Very good command of English, enabling fluent communication.
• Ability to work in a team, collaborate, and share knowledge with others, as well as the ability to work independently.
• Ability to work in an international environment and coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Analytical mindset and well-versed in the application of the scientific method.
