Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Sr. Controls Engineer supporting our Secure Power Division.

Location:
remote U.S.

What will you do?

• Understand the customer requirements, design intent, metering requirements, and high level sequence of operations in order to develop a final sequence of operations, controls specifications, equipment requirements, and develop cost budgets for the entire controls scope of work.
• Develop or work with design engineers to provide all deliverables required to describe the controls scope of work. This may include controls block diagrams, equipment layouts, installation details, equipment schedules and specifications.
• Procuring bids to cover the electrical rough-in work, all equipment, specialties and licensing required, and programming from any internal and external partners required providing a complete controls solution.
• Coordinate with Pre-Construction and Business Capture to develop ROM budgets and scope narratives for controls portion of work to accompany new opportunity proposals.

Understand control sequences and logic for mechanical systems including:

• Chilled Water Distribution
• Condenser Water Distribution
• Air Cooled Chillers
• Water Cooled Chillers
• Heat Exchangers
• Comfort Cooling Systems (VAV, VRV, Constant Volume)
• Economization, Exhaust, and Ventilation Systems including Building Pressurization
• Bulk Fuel Storage and Handling Systems
• Air Handling Units and Fans
• Pumps

Understand control sequences, logic and metering schemes for electrical systems including:

• Switchgear – Breaker automation
• Protective Relays
• Power meters
• Automatic Transfer Switches
• Generators
• Paralleling Switchgear
• UPS Systems
• PDUs
• Lighting

Other Skills:

• Understand mechanical and electrical one line diagrams and construction drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills are expected, to include electrical troubleshooting using a multi-meter / power analyzer.
• Understand and be able to implement various industrial network designs (TCP/IP,
• Modbus TCP, CanBus, RS-485 / RS-232, Fiber Optics, CAT 5, CAT6 etc)
• Have experience with Programable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), or other industrial controllers such as Jace Niagara Tridium systems, Allerton, Honeywell

Who will you report to?

• Director of Design Build Engineering and Estimating for NAM Secure Power Division

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline preferred.
• EIT and PE Preferred
• Must have 5 years of experience in either the installation or design of controls systems of similar type as described above.
• AutoCAD experience
• Experience leading a team
• Must be willing to travel within the U.S. up to 25%
• This role will not support visa sponsorship now or in the future
