Wood is recruiting for a Project Engineer to join its Power & Industrial business focusing on a comprehensive range of engineering and project management services within Operations Americas. This opportunity provides a Hybrid work attachment at Madrid office.

The Role
We are looking for an accountable Project Engineer to be part of the execution team for Steam Generation Solution Operations based in Madrid. You will oversees all aspects of the assigned work packages within a project in close coordination with discipline specialists. Main responsible and contact point for related vendors ensuring work is completed efficiently with no errors or negative impacts on the timeline. The Project Engineer also provides feedback to all team members and facilitates communication throughout the project’s lifecycle.
The typical Project Engineering department scopes are: 

Supports delivery of engineering excellence in their assigned project(s) through executing 
Ensures accurate and timely delivery of work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers. 
Coordinate the engineering process with other processes (purchase, fabrication control, quality assurance and control, construction/erection, commissioning) as applicable.
Provide manufacturers and vendors with a complete set of information to allow for fabrication and delivery in a timely manner
Ensure compliance of vendor deliverables with the applicable technical requirements and specifications. 
Prepares and issues Project Engineering deliverables for the assigned scope of work (as p.e: contract specifications comments, Material Requisition, vendor documentation comments, etc). 
Alerts Project Manager in the event of potential delays or change
Supports implementation of approved changes

Responsibilities

coordinate the engineering process with client, identifying client requirements and providing engineering response to client concerns, and to manage the engineering deliverables to client in a timely manner.
provide manufacturers and vendors with a complete set of information to allow for fabrication and delivery in a timely manner; and to ensure compliance of vendor deliverables with the applicable technical requirements and specifications.
coordinate the engineering process with other processes (purchase, fabrication control, quality assurance and control, construction/erection, commissioning) as applicable.
accountable for the management of information provided by vendors as per the DMS. Project Engineering is accountable for the management of the deliverables to client as per the DMS.
Prepare Material Requisitions, supplier’s proposals review and technical tabulations.
Prepare databases and lines and terminal point lists, piping and accessories material lists for estimates and purchase
Prepare databases and valves lists for estimates and purchase
Project schedule control and monitoring.
Coordination and support to the erection and commissioning areas

Qualifications

Expected: 

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferable Mechanical, Energy, or similar
At least 2-4 years of experience in a similar position
Excellent command of Spanish and English languages
Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required
Understands Technical work scopes, key dates and milestones
Understands and knows how to apply the procedures and work practices which define and govern Engineering Management and Project Engineering deliverables
Commercially astute and aware of the importance of Change control.

Desirable:

Experience in steam generator equipment, power plants and/or clean air technologies.
Site experience.
Design of SCADA visualization systems / DCS Systems
