Wood is looking to add a Junior or Intermediate Project Engineer to programs related to In-Situ, Minable, or Midstream and Downstream projects in Calgary, AB as part of our busy and growing Oil, Gas & New Energies Canada team due to growth in our business!

Please note this role will work our standard office hybrid work schedule. 
This Project Engineer has overall project engineering management responsibility for the delivery of projects in terms of cost, schedule, technical conformance, HSSEA (Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Assurance), quality, and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Under close direction and guidance, supports delivery of engineering excellence in their assigned project(s) through coordination of single discipline engineering deliverables. 
• Coordinates a series of activities performed by engineers and designers from one engineering discipline to support the timely issuing of engineering deliverables to meet project specifications. 
• Undertakes basic schedule preparation, planning and resource forecasting for engineering activities relating to the project 
• Ensures accurate and timely delivery of work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers. • Alerts Project Manager in the event of potential delays or change; supports implementation of approved changes. 
• Coordinates and assures technical excellence of interdisciplinary project deliverables

Responsibilities

• Coordinates discipline input to deliverables including Process/Utility Flow Diagrams, Engineering Flow Diagrams and, Line Lists, Equipment Lists, Special Piping Item Lists and Requisition Index. 
• Able to coordinate input of a single engineering discipline within more than one office location 
• Plans individual work activities and manages time; liaises with disciplines to ensure timely receipt of comments. 
• Follows and delivers against the project engineering manhour budget and schedule requirements. 
• Reports on progress issues to facilitate resolution. • Alerts more senior project engineering personnel in the event of potential delays or change 
Design Verification 
• Participate in design reviews to learn requirements and follow up on actions. 
Change Management   
• Supports implementation of approved changes.   
People Management 
• Coordinates work of small team of technical professionals in the delivery of engineering deliverables, (typically <5); communicates with line managers.   

Qualifications

Registration as a P. Eng. is mandatory with 4 to 7 years of broad experience in Oil, Gas & Chemicals projects
Must possess a high degree of originality, skill, and proficiency in the various broad phases of engineering application and knowledge of quality management
Must be eligible for professional registration in other provinces across Canada.
Eligibility for registration in the USA will be considered an asset but is not required.
