As a Principal Systems Engineer within the Next Generation Avionics (NGA) groupat Honeywell, your technical expertise and leadership will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and management of complex safety-critical systems and solutions for the Anthem™️Flight Displays. You will be responsible for leading the design and development of safety-critical Avionics systems, ensuring products meet rigorous safety standards and regulatory requirements. You will be instrumental in driving system-level design efforts, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative avionics solutions.
You will be a leader within the team assuring that the Anthem™️Display Platform meets all technical requirements, supports functional load deliveries, and ultimately, supports safety and certification requirements. You will coordinate with the IPT leaders to prioritize work packages, design goals, and objectives, provide technical leadership, and drive overall program performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design and development of safety-critical Avionics systems, ensuring compliance with applicable product safety and regulatory standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254).
• Guide the definition and development of system architectures and designs to meet project and customer requirements
• Product safety activities (FMEA, FTA, FHA, SSA, etc.)
• Product safety leadership (mentoring, MOS improvements, etc.)
• Customer & certification authority interaction
• Work closely with design, testing, and quality teams to devise and implement safety engineering strategies across all product lifecycle stages.
• Ensure that system solutions are scalable, reliable, and align with industry best practices
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, ensuring the successful execution of projects
• Develop and execute test plans, analyze test results, and drive corrective action
• Oversee the integration and testing of complex systems, ensuring that they meet performance and quality standards
• Ensure that system design aligns with Honeywell’s quality standards and industry best practices.
• Work with stakeholders to capture and manage system requirements, ensuring they are well-defined, complete, and traceable throughout the project lifecycle
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
• 12+ years of experience in Systems Engineering and project guidance, including ARP-4754A, ARP-4761 as well as DO-178B and/or DO-254 experience
WE VALUE
• Advanced knowledge of systems development lifecycle
• Experience authoring FMEA, FTA, FHA and safety aspects of an SSA for part 23 and part 25 aircraft
• Any prior direct experience doing, reviewing, or otherwise observing systems safety, product safety, or reliability activities.
• Experience in guiding complex system integration projects
• Mastery of knowledge in systems development, integration, implementation, and troubleshooting
• Individuals that quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts.
• Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies
