Principal Electrical Engineer

Job Description

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is currently recruiting for Principal Electrical Engineer (for KZ Passport holders) with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to join our team in Tengiz, Kazakhstan.

Responsibilities

Shall be conversant in preparation of engineering deliverables/activities such as single line diagrams, schematics, cable sizing calculations, Fault analysis, lighting calculations, equipment specification & selection, procurement support activities such as MR / TQ / TBE / Vendor Document Reviews, Hazardous area classification 
Familiarity with any electrical software’s such as ETAP, EDSA, PTW or equivalent would be an advantage
Knowledge & application of International, local codes & standards
Shall be capable of independently carrying out site surveys and prepare site survey reports
Shall be conversant in preparation of Electrical work packs & also liaise with relevant inter-disciplines in case of composite work packs
Liaising and coordinating with other discipline groups on specific projects to ensure deliverable are produced to meet desired quality, achieve deadlines and be within budget
Producing and reviewing documents, study report and design calculations and ensuring conformance to engineering quality and competence
Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and difficult co-ordination requirements

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering but specialization in Power systems would be an advantage
A minimum experience of 7-8 years working in a multi-disciplinary Engineering office in a similar role is highly desirable
Working experience in Design Engineering is highly desirable
