The role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Project Engineer to join our UAE Business Unit.

Wood has been awarded a general engineering contract to support an International Client operator to deliver a portfolio of onshore capital projects by provision of engineering and project management services (including EPC contract management), as well as Supply Chain, Construction and Commissioning support from Wood Iraq and UAE offices.
Projects include both Greenfield and Brownfield modification projects and integrating low-carbon solutions to support our client’s energy transition and emissions reduction goals.

Key Objectives
Steward the delivery of Portfolio/Project within schedule/Budget, with due focus on internal/external stakeholders’ requirements/satisfaction
Maintain positive customer relationship, fostering and enhancing relationship management with open, honest and effective communications
Establishing Work Orders WBS Structure and alignment of proposals & CTR development with an emphasis on scope development
Ensure interface management, liaising with the Client’s Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff from inception till close out
Establish Project performance evaluation mechanism/KPIs – baseline schedule/PMS/Dashboards and regular updates of the same
Review/ Input Financial Reports: Monthly Cost Reports, monitoring of expenditures (VOWD / WIP), Estimate to complete (ETC)
Ensure Engineering/Procurement/Construction are being executed as per the schedule/budget
Liaison with Engineering disciplines /Document Controls for generation & maintenance of Deliverable Register (MDR)
Oversee LLI procurements (MR/TBEs/vendor docs/delivery) are being done as per plan & budgets
Establish excellent working relationship with construction contractors in country, ensure adequate reporting mechanisms are in place
Identify potential Risks associated, flag those for impact assessment and explore mitigatory measures
Review & approve progress reports / Milestone invoices from various vendors and endorse to register it in the system
Coordinate preparation /submission of Final Documentation Dossier
Prepare of Project Close out report/Secure approvals and handing over
Manage resourcing trends/ forecasts across the portfolio and address re-allocation / mobilization requirements upfront
Generate contracting and tendering strategies/plan, Coordinate /Assist ITT preps, Administer Bid evaluation process
Ensure day-to-day operations maintain a continued alignment with overall corporate policy, strategy, and direction
Interactions with the project sponsor/customer, regularly reviews and reports project progress to senior management and/or the sponsor/customer
Support in recruitment, selection, and development of talent, ensuring performance standards to achieve continuous performance improvement
Assist leadership and peers to improve delivery performance/ Recognize customer needs beyond the immediate scope and maximize delivery opportunities throughout wider business where required.

Expected:
Degree qualification in an Engineering discipline
Minimum of 15+ years project engineering experience in the oil and gas industries
Professional Accreditation from recognized institute (preferable)
Middle East Experience (Preferable)
