The Role 
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Engineer – Instrumentation with a proven track record in understanding of the complexities involved in large-scale Gas Processing projects to meet objectives for a high-profile client.

The key objectives for this role are:

Setting technical direction and guiding engineering teams in designing and implementing advanced control systems.
Managing large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, budgets, and timelines.
Driving improvements in automation, control strategies, and system efficiency.
Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and mitigating risks in control system operations.
Leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers to enhance technical expertise.
Coordinating with clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies to align project goals with business objectives.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Undertake process design work of units as required, supervise and check works of assigned engineers on the project as appropriate
Execute process engineering activities within the budget and schedule, as well as maintaining technical integrity of the design
Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used conform with Client’s requirements and / or those issued
Be responsible for the checking or approval of basis of design, process calculations, safety related calculations to develop the robust design
Review and approve I & C Diagrams, P&IDs, PSFS, DPTDs, Equipment & Instrument specifications, Instrumentation Descriptions, cause, and Effect chart etc.
Review and approve dynamic simulation study, transient study, surge study, Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) study, etc.
Review and approve depressurization studies, flare load estimation and flare system design
Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed
Review and approve safety related calculations and provide input to HAZOP, SIL and other safety reviews as required
Identifying new methodology of work process required for higher productivity
Contribute where necessary to review of supplier quotations and reviews of the project
Ensure that requirements of Licensor’s Secrecy Agreements are known and complied within the work performed
Participate in technical meetings and handle discussions with client engineers
Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Managers, Engineering Manager / Discipline heads
Be willing to mentor and engage in the training and development of junior engineers in the team
Assist project team in the preparation of planning package, scheduling, weekly reporting etc.
Assist as required in the preparation of pre – commissioning, commission procedures and operating Manuals
Provided assistance in Manhours estimation and scheduling for proposals

Expected: 

Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including minimum (5) years (preferred) in GCC region.  
Must have at least 5 (five) years of experience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects
Experience in Instrumentation Designing.
Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software
Experience of working in a multi – project / multi – disciplined environment and throughout all engineering and design phases of projects
Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
