Job Description

Wood is currently looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer (PMC/Engineering) to join our team in Sharjah, UAE.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
PMC

Ensure quality and accuracy of EPC Contractor’s and Vendor’s Discipline design activities
Review and approval of EPC Contractor’s work and ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices in compliance with the contractual review periods
Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops

ENGINEERING

Assume sole responsibility for assigned electrical engineering work scopes
Carry out electrical discipline work for field development of oil and gas production facilities
Plan, budget, organize and control a segment of the electrical engineering deliverables for the project
Prepare electrical deliverables for all project phases the oil and gas industry
Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule
Provide direction and guidance on all electrical engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties
Liaise with the Client’s Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion
Promote safe behavior at all times
Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline
Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up
Assist in the coordination of all activities related to electrical engineering design
Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required

GENERAL

Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects
Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers
Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning & commissioning

Qualifications

Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
Membership of a recognized professional institute preferred
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry
Minimum of 6 years proven capability in an engineering design company
Experience working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Electrical design and analysis
Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for Electrical engineering design
Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards
Experience of participation in EHAZOP, ETAP, HAZOP, HAZID and SIL Rating studies
Self-starter and flexibility to manage and deliver both PMC and engineering activities
