Wood is currently looking for an Engineering Manager to join our System Integration (SI) team within our Digital Consulting business supporting a key UK client. 
This is a hybrid role that can be based at any of the following UK offices: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Reading or Staines with the expectation of travel as required. 
Applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering delivery across key National Gas projects. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee a team of skilled engineers, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and ensure projects are executed seamlessly from initial concept through to completion.
You’ll be instrumental in upholding the quality and consistency of engineering standards across all projects, driving excellence at every stage. Within SI, we are architecting our clients’ digital ecosystems to be inherently safe, cybersecure and operable. Within our teams we integrate client source systems across their IT, Operational Technology (OT) environments, securely pushing OT data into IT systems as a foundation for transformation.

Responsibilities

The Key Objectives of this role are:Driving technical assuranceEnsures project is delivered in accordance with Wood technical standards and client technical requirementsMonitors compliance with standards and processes to assure deliveryDriving continual focus on process safety through the engineering team Driving elimination of technical incidents through robust controls, incident reviews and embedding lessons learned Identifies and mitigates areas of risk and improvement opportunitiesManaging and leading, supporting and supervising the multidiscipline engineering teamEnsuring appropriately resourced and competent personnel on Project/Contract Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities. Responsible for the engineering content of project execution plans for assigned projectsResponsible for the management of engineering activities on the projectConsult and negotiate with clients to prepare specifications, explain proposals, and present engineering reports and findingsAssign, co-ordinate and review the technical work of the project teamFocuses on managerial concerns of the project such as cost, completion date, and resource allocation. Provides expert resolution of issues and monitors the integration of workReviews technical concepts of major projectsParticipates in solving difficult technical problemsResponsible for facilitating agreement between conflicting partiesAssist in identifying and requesting functional support to projects/contracts as requiredAccountable for the efficient planning and management of engineering resources, identifying ad pursuing opportunities for margin improvement, including HVEC GEC utilisation
