If you are an Embedded Software Engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, and is looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Shakopee, Minnesota location, you will create embedded software for the products in the Liquid Analysis group as part of the Measurement Solutions organization, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of process analytical equipment for liquid analysis, combustion analysis, and gas analysis.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
• Designing, developing, testing and debugging embedded system software
• Performing reviews throughout the SDLC including requirements, designs and code
• Providing postproduction and legacy code support
• Provide process improvements and recommendations
• Participating in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from requirements definition through post-release activities
• Work with cross-functional global teams including Software Development, Hardware Development, and System Architecture.

For This Role, You Will Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science from an engineering school
• Legal authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering
• An ABET accredited engineering degree is preferred
• Good communication skills and the ability to participate as a member of a team
• Experience with C/C++ Programming languages
• Experience with related technologies and processes (SDLC, Agile/Scrum, Object-Oriented Design, UML, real-time operating systems, microcontrollers, serial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, I2C, SPI)
• Prior internship or co-op experience a plus

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $72,000-$96,000 annually commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
