Entry-Level Engineer

When you join Design Group as an Entry-Level Engineer, you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world’s leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our XXXXX Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.

• Apply your knowledge of engineering design and technical problem solving to 21st century manufacturing projects
• Assist in the design of manufacturing processes, help manage projects, and develop facilities
• Conduct yourself with integrity in pursuit of your personal and professional goals
• Become a passionate and successful business family member
• Assume responsibility for all aspects of project execution including line layout engineering, mechanical design, vendor/contractor management, equipment procurement, schedule management, finances, site management, start-up, and installation
• Interface with on-site and remote cross functional project teams, vendors, contractors, and OEMs
• Design packaging lines and handle mechanical design and engineering calculations
• Create process flow diagrams, piping & instrument drawings, pump sizing calculations, and mass & heat balance calculations
• Manage integration of automation lines, develop material handling methods, and create installation specifications
• Design control panels, develop PLC programming and HMIs, troubleshoot packaging and process machinery and line control systems, create user applications, handle on-site programming, and create automation applications
• Execute validation and FEDA compliance related documents/protocols, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ
• Execute within automated systems, develop and execute QMS procedures, CFR 21 Part 211, CFR 21 Part 820, ICH Q1, ICH Q8, ICH Q9, and ICH Q10
• Conduct investigations, troubleshoot validation issues, and write validation reports
• Handle inspections, licensing, and design for electrical systems buildings, HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, and manufacturing facilities
• Create structural and construction drawings
• Resolve engineering change request notices, requests for information, and FCRs
• Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team

What You’ll Bring

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to successfully organize and execute multiple project responsibilities
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with management, clients, and vendors
• A basic understanding of project management fundamentals
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or 3D facility modeling software (preferred)
• Co-op, internship, or project experience related to engineering, consulting, programming, facility design, construction management, process design, drafting, or architecture (preferred)
• Co-op, internship, or project experience in food/dairy, high speed beverage/brewery, pharmaceutical, medical device, advanced technology, oil & gas, or the consumer products industries (preferred)
• Prior participation in campus/community service activities (preferred)
• A willingness to travel for project requirements including installation and start-up activities, client and company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, and conventions
• A bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical, biomedical, or civil (structural concentration) engineering, bioengineering, or architecture, or an equivalent degree or certification from an ABET accredited program
