Sustaining Engineering Manager

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will utilize your broad electrical engineering experience to respond to Engineering Service Requests (ESR’s) which includes reviewing customer specifications, drawings and requirements in order to develop and configure new and alternative product solutions. You will have responsibility for understanding the application and functionality of the products, and applicable requirements and agency standards of the products. The work model for the role is: Onsite This role is contributing to the ABB Electrification Installation Products division at the Manufacturing Facility in Hackettstown, NJ. You will be mainly accountable for: • Perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, design, development and assembly, while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and other pertinent information. • Perform engineering documentation and control activities for electrical schematics, drawings, BOMs, instruction sheets, technical data sheet creation and modification, and Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) utilizing a global life cycle management system (GPLM). • Responsible for ensuring that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application and recommend appropriate design revisions. • Conduct cross functional design reviews to ensure that proposed design solutions meet all Customer requirements as well as manufacturing standards. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum 2- 3 years experience in product R&D, sustaining or similar engineering role.
• Experience using CAD software (preferably ProE/Creo) and creating electrical line diagrams / schematics is required.
• PTC Windchill experience is a plus.
• Must have strong analytical skills with a solutions-oriented, engineering problem solving mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a project team environment, as well as working independently to support and deliver effective solutions for assigned engineering projects.
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States.
