Job Description:
We are looking for an Electrical Controls Engineer to join our Systems Integrator Group who has a passion for helping our customers find innovative solutions, leading and developing teams and individuals, and making a positive impact on others. This is a high-travel position and will report to the Director of Control Systems Integration, and provide complete project execution from system layout concept through to commissioning.
Responsibilities:
• Travel to customer sites domestically and internationally.
• Utilize AutoCAD for electrical schematic and hardware design.
• Program PLCs, primarily utilizing Allen-Bradley ControlLogix systems.
• Develop HMI applications using Allen-Bradley PanelView+ and FactoryTalk View.
• Servo and motion control programming.
• Program and configure VFDs, optimizing machinery operation and energy efficiency.
• Develop, prepare and maintain program documentation in areas related to diagnostics, information systems, data collection and communication with other peripheral equipment.
• Manage personal schedule of responsibilities across multiple projects, coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure timely completion and effective communication throughout the process.
• Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions; participate on team to analyze control system malfunctions; make recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operations.
• Travel to customer sites and other business locations, estimated at 35% of working time, to support project implementation and client interactions. Must be comfortable with frequent travel.
• Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned to support project objectives and team initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (equivalent experience is 5-7+ years of practical engineering experience in lieu of a degree.)
• Capability to travel up to 35% of the time to client sites and other business locations domestically and internationally.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in electrical schematic and hardware design in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Electrical Controls Engineering with a focus on PLC programming; particularly Allen-Bradley ControlLogix.
• Proficiency in HMI programming, specifically using Allen-Bradley PanelView+ with FactoryTalk View.
• Experience in VFD programming and setup.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
Nice to Have Qualifications:
• Project management experience.
• Robotics experience.
• Experience with servo and motion control programming.
