Wood is recruiting for a Construction Engineer (E&I) for a minimum of 6 months to support on a key project within the Systems Integration team in our Digital Consulting business.
There is a requirement for hybrid working with Tuesday and Wednesday being based out of any of the UK Wood offices.
Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check

The Role
The Construction Engineer (E&I) plays a crucial role in bridging engineering and construction by converting engineering deliverables into well – structured construction work packs. This position ensures that construction deliverables meet the required technical standards while providing continuous support to the construction site lead. By facilitating seamless site construction activities, the role contributes to efficient project execution, adherence to engineering specifications and overall operational excellence.
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of E&I Construction principles, be adept at coordinating between engineering and construction teams and demonstrate the ability to develop comprehensive work packs that align with project specifications and timelines.

Responsibilities
The key objectives for this role are: Deliver construction work packs from engineering deliverables, giving clear activity breakdown and detailed narratives for all construction activities Contribute discipline experience to the ongoing development of project work methods, processes and team developmentCarry out constructability review of work packs. Feedback any issues to construction lead or relevant engineering disciplineDeliver against agreed planned work scopes ensuring obligations are met by way of timely completion of work packs.Assisting with the delivery and timely execution of the project/contract/service and ensure the contract requirements are satisfiedContribute to a continuous improvement philosophy across the construction function, always delivering best practicesIn accordance with CDM regulations assist in providing pre-construction support to the project To study and assess the relevant drawings, specifications, and instruction for the functional area of responsibilityCoordinate with the design team to enhance the design element and highlight any special recommendations to reduce risk or optimise schedule Constructively challenge engineering concepts with a view to minimizing shutdown scheduleSupport the Construction Site Lead with day-to-day coordination of Main Construction Contractor at siteSupport Construction Site Lead with liaising between design team and Main Construction Contractor for resolution of site queries and questionsReview of Method Statements and Risk AssessmentsMonitor Quality of work pack compliance in accordance with Quality plan and ITP’sWorking to the Wood Ethics and Compliance rules, Sustainability goals and reporting all deviations

Expected:Typically, minimum qualified to ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma / apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experienceE&I background in site construction with demonstratable experience is essential Reasonable level of practical, applied knowledge of construction methods Ability to convert Engineering deliverables into construction work packsTo be conversant with construction/commissioning mechanical completion technologyProven experience in Brownfield upgrades / replacement instrumentation and control projectsProven experience with dealing with Valves, Instruments, Cable runs, Control rooms, etcDesirable:Ability to deliver documentation that is technically correct to the required standard and scheduleProven experience in Brownfield upgrades / replacement instrumentation and control projectsCompressor Station/Metering experience is advantageousGood interpersonal, organisational, communication and team building skills Able to operate in an integrated team environment supporting others with a desire and ability to build trust and respect throughout the teamWell organised, logical and thorough in approach
