Wood is recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer – Instrumentation and Controls System to join its Commissioning Services business. This position is focused on onshore and offshore projects in the United States. Weekly Workdays / Rotational Schedule (as required). Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.

The Role Commissioning Engineer will be accountable for the commission and start-up of project processing, utility and supporting systems, completing the commissioning work-scope in a logical and controlled sequence and to the project specifications. Implement Wood’s Safety Policies and Procedures throughout the commissioning phases of the project.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:Responsible for preparing/supporting Commissioning Team with: Commissioning philosophy, schedule and procedures during project Detailed Design phaseSystem commissioning activities during all phases of the project. Execute Commissioning Procedures with  Commissioning Team supportSupport system handover and acceptance from Construction Team and to Operations Team; including system discipline walk downs and punch list generationReport to the Project Manager on issues regarding commissioning, start up schedule and progressInterface with client management regarding commissioning and start-upEnsure all commissioning resources are being utilized in a cost effective mannerDefine system priority hand over list from Construction to Commissioning and from Commissioning to OperationsWill direct or assist in developing Project Manpower Estimates and System Commissioning SchedulesDevelop and maintain commissioning budgetDevelop and review commissioning test equipment and material take-offs for onshore and offshore executionDevelop vendor call-out requirements and schedule for specialized vendor supplied equipment and overall vendor coordinationPrepare systems for final inspection and hand over to Operations Team after commissioning procedures are completeNeed proficiency in MS Office Applications e.g., Word, Excel, Access, Power PointPerform other duties as assigned or requested

Excellent communication skills and team-oriented personality required to interface with Engineering, Construction and Operations Teams. A detailed working knowledge of oil and gas process and onshore/offshore facilities is required including: power generation and distribution, control and safety systems, oil and gas separation, turbine driven gas compression, rotating equipment, utility support and lifesaving systems.Expected:Degree in Engineering or relevant experience Oil and Gas / Energy Industry. Equivalent industry certifications and experience will be considered5+ years experience in oil and gas / energy industry Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Start-Up and Operations experience, particularly Commissioning and Start-up experience of large capital projects, multi-discipline supervisory roles in all industry type facilitiesExperience with Turbine generation: specifically controls systems Mark Vie / LCI2100e and EX2100eExperience with Gas turbine control systems and auxiliaries Skilled in troubleshooting and diagnostics of Mark VIe, Mark VI, Mark V and Mark II control systems in both power generation and mechanical driveAbility to provide technical support of PLC-based hardware and softwareEmployee must be able to see and read reportsEmployee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hand and fingers, and reach with hands and armsEmployee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsEmployee must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers.  Field Employees must be able to pass an audiometric testEmployee must be able to safely traverse stairsEmployee must be able to pass a medical “Fit for Duty” physical and drug screenIf assigned Offshore, employee must be able to pass HUET/METS #LI-Onsite
