As an Automation Field Technician, you willwork with design engineers, construction contractors, equipment vendors, and client staff to ensure proper operation and acceptance of the automation and software solutions.

Summary:

The Automation Field Technician – Critical Infrastructure is a key contributor in the construction and startup phase of large-scale mission-critical building automation systems. Provides technical support and leadership to plan, schedule, and execute project installation, startup, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and closeout of the largest and most complex building automation systems software integration projects in industrial, commercial, and mission-critical / technology sectors.

You will work with design engineers, construction contractors, equipment vendors, and client staff to ensure proper operation and acceptance of the automation and software solutions.

You will receive limited direction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new projects or assignments. Will assist project leadership on automation projects of complex scope. Will work independently or under limited supervision.

Education / Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related disciplineOR:

• Two years of experience with hands-on installation, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of control infrastructure

Plus:

• Minimum of five years of additional experience with installation, hands-on testing, validation, and troubleshooting of control infrastructure using PLC / SCADA platforms.

Requirements

Position Requirements (Intermediate level for all the following)

• Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Knowledge of control wiring, relay logic, and associated sensors and field devices
• Knowledge of central cooling plant equipment, components, and sequences of operation
• Experience with startup and troubleshooting of PLC platforms, including Allen Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix
• Experience with troubleshooting low-voltage electrical systems
• Experience with startup and troubleshooting of SCADA platforms, including Ignition
• Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
• Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
• Ability to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in a distraction-free workspace
• Ability to interpret AE construction drawings, BAS shop drawings, manufacturers’ wiring diagrams, standards documentation, submittals, and product data sheets
• Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
• Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
• Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times, serve as the primary point of client contact
• Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
• Ability to plan effectively and delegate the work of others
• Ability to achieve certification for NFPA70E and/or OSHA training as required
• Ability to maintain the jobsite and keep it organized
• Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Travel / Relocation Requirements

• Must relocate to or live in the Atlanta, GA area
• Effective May 7, 2025 and in accordance with U.S. federal regulations for domestic air travel, a valid REAL ID (or an acceptable alternative, such as a passport) is required for travel associated with this position
• Up to 75% travel to other jobsite locations, this may include travel to any of the 50 US states
