Engineering Manager

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support engineering activities across a diverse range of project sizes and complexities, all under the guidance of senior engineers. Each day, you will be responsible for completing tasks in a cost-effective manner while adhering to contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting data and supporting production of the engineering design. Additionally, you will serve as the technical system engineer throughout the project lifecycle, which includes documentation, procurement, engineering design, testing, and commissioning of metering systems within the oil and gas industry. The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite, #LI-hybrid This role is contributing to the Process Automation Measurement & Analytics Business being based at Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. You will be mainly accountable for: • Assisting project managers and project lead engineers in technical reviews and discussions with customers, partners, subcontractors and vendors • Assisting contract managers with claims, customer specifications and safety standards • Creating and delivering the work plan and budget, as well as risk assessments relevant to your engineering discipline • Helping customers resolve technical issues both remotely and at customer sites, in oil and gas offshore or onshore plant/sites. • Maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project • Utilizing engineering skills in programming, configuring SCADA/HMI, Flow Computers, Cybersecurity and related skills. • Being willing to travel for site work, including service, installation, and troubleshooting tasks. On-site presence is often necessary for immediate response to technical issues. • Ensuring compliance with all safety requirements during work execution, both in the office and at project sites. This includes attending necessary training sessions to stay updated on safety protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Information Technology or a similar field.
• 1-3 years of experience in computer/programming/digitalization works.
• Strong logical sense in troubleshooting programming codes (Phyton, C, C++, HTML/CSS, knowledge about HTTP, webserversVB, JAVA etc), configuring HMI/SCADA/PLC software.
• Any added experience in HMI/SCADA, PLC, Input/Output signal managing, Cybersecurity is an advantage.
• A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.
• A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills.
