We are seeking anApplication Engineerto lead initial customer consultations and support estimating and proposal development for industrial automation solutions across the food & beverage, life sciences, aggregates, and chemical industries. Projects will include both process control and machine control applications. This role will also contribute to refining methods, tools, and processes for estimating and proposal development across the West Coast region.Must be located in the Central Valley or Northern California area.You will:
• Meet with customers to review technical scope and commercial requirements, collaborating with E Tech Group Business Development Managers and Project Managers throughout the sales pursuit process.
• Prepare estimates by gathering and reviewing RFQs, bid documents, blueprints, specifications, and other relevant materials.
• Independently develop quotes for Control Panel, PLC, HMI, SCADA, and IT/OT integration projects, engaging engineering resources for subject matter expertise and solution consultation as needed.
• Analyze labor, material, and time requirements to determine project costs.
• Present prepared estimates with clear numerical and descriptive detail.
• Resolve scope or cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date cost database.
• Stay current with industry developments by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications, while actively supporting business development initiatives.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating tools, processes, and methods.
• Travel up to 30% to local and regional customer sites.
• Serve as an ambassador who embodies ourCore Values, prioritizing the success of E Tech Group, our clients, and the professional development of our associates.
You Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial automation, with direct involvement in design, controls, programming, and electrical engineering as they relate to estimating.
• Proven experience applying the company’s established methods, tools, and processes for estimating and proposal management.
• Proficiency in ERP/project costing systems and parametric estimation tools.
• Strong ability to interpret customer plans, specifications, technical documentation, and RFQ packages.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative mindset, strong sense of urgency, and commitment to delivering results with excellence.
• A DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork.

Salary Range: $115,000 – $140,000
