About the Role

An excellent opportunity has opened for aTechnology Systems Designerto support design efforts across a diverse portfolio of high-tech and mission-critical projects. Working closely with senior consultants, you will assist in shaping solutions for smart buildings, critical facilities, and connected environments.

This role suits someone ready to transition from basic design assignments into more complex and technically challenging projects, working as part of a multi-disciplinary design team.

Key Responsibilities

• Create low to medium complexity designs independently and contribute to complex system layouts under senior direction.
• Assist in developing system narratives, specifications, and design documentation for audiovisual, telecom, IT, and security systems.
• Conduct field inspections to assess site conditions and support preparation of technical due diligence and feasibility reports.
• Begin to establish operational design parameters under guidance from senior staff.
• Understand fundamentals of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi networks, WAPs, and connectivity infrastructure.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines and external stakeholders to support fully integrated designs.
• Perform quality assurance reviews of your work and contribute to peer QA/QC efforts.
• Assist with design schedules, manpower planning, and budget tracking.
• Support field inspections, construction administration, RFIs, bulletins, and technical reviews.
• Contribute to drawing standards and maintain clear drawing organisation.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary design activities and project coordination meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or a technical field – or equivalent industry experience.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in AV, IT, telecom, or security systems design across sectors such as data centres, healthcare, aviation, education, or corporate interiors.
• Understanding of network and structured cabling design.
• Familiarity with Wi-Fi network concepts and ability to generate heat maps.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience in Revit or Revit 360 preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Industry certifications (such as CTS, CTS-D, RCDD, CCNA, PSP, CPP, CISSP, PMP, etc.) are advantageous.
