Job Description
We are currently seeking a detailed-driven and experienced Commissioning Manager to oversee commissioning planning, execution, and handover activities across brownfield and upgrade works in Portland.
You’ll coordinate closely with project teams, construction leads, QA/QC, HSE and the client stakeholders to manage the transition from construction to operations in a live plant environment.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Lead commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
Develop commissioning execution plans, schedules, procedures, and handover documentation.
Coordinate pre-commissioning energisation, functional testing, and performance verification.
Interface with project managers, construction teams, engineers, and client representatives.
Manage punch listing, system sign off, and commissioning readiness review.
Ensure compliance with the client’s safety systems, isolation protocols, and QA standards.
Drive commissioning meetings, toolbox talks, and daily progress reporting.
Support training and operational readiness handover to client operations teams.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration
Qualifications

Ideally you will have:
8+ years’ experience in commissioning management in heavy industrial or smelter environments.
Trade or Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation.
Certificate IV in Project Management (preferred)
Background in brownfield projects, shutdowns, or system upgrades highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidiscipline teams across E&I and mechanical scopes.
Strong knowledge of commissioning systems, process safety, and operational integration.
Proficient in reading P&IDs, single line diagrams, control narratives and datasheets.
Excellent communication, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong understanding of construction and maintenance practices across SMP and E&I trades
Proven ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, and project reporting requirements

Must be available to work onsite in Portland, Victoria
