As a Controls Software Engineer at Honeywell Intelligrated,you will be part of a team that is passionate about automated control systems and strives to be at the leading edge of control system technology. You will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the best and brightest in our industry while driving the technological choices behind complex automated control systems used in logistics operations. In this role, you will impact the deployment of automation solutions that drive efficiency and productivity across various industrial automated control systems. You will play a role in shaping the future of control system technology and contribute to the application of automation technologies to real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute projects independently, collaborate with and take part in mentorship opportunities.
• Design, engineer, and execute industry leading projects from start to finish.
• Develop complete and concise system Description of Operation (DOO), test plans and user guides.
• Integrate cutting edge bar code reading technology to track and sort cases.
• Deliver successful automated material handling solutions to the customer by developing and implementing detailed commissioning plans.
• Attends all project related turnover meetings, functional design reviews and team meetings.
• Meets scope, budget, and schedule for the assigned projects.
• Performs code reviews.
• Completes all in-house testing and emulation.
• Interface with industry leading customers.
• Provides site/field reports daily, including progress, issues, and next steps, as requested.
• Maintains and tracks issues list, reporting to Supervisor / Manager as required.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement software solutions
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather requirements
• Develop code and conduct unit testing
• Troubleshoot and debug software applications
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
• Knowledge of industrial automation control systems
• 2+ years of automation programming
• Ability to evaluate electrical prints and define control device requirements.
• SQL experience
• A valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel upwards of 40%

WE VALUE

• BS Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) or related
• Knowledgeable of object-oriented languages e.g. C#, C/C++, or Java
• Fieldbus knowledge (Profibus, EthernetIP, ControlNet etc.)
• Passion for innovation and continuous learning
• Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate and apply latest information and concept
• Clearly and concisely convey subtle or complex messages to a non-technical audience
• Capability to follow guidelines and ensure efficiency on given project tasks
• Ability to focus on essential information and identify key details
• Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Office 365, etc.)
