Wood is recruiting for a GOC Completions Engineer (I&E) to join its Iraq business unit focusing on documentation reviews, data verifications and data uploads, vendor site visits and assistance with Inspection activities for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Basra, Iraq on 6/1 work schedule. 
This role is a full-time on-site role in Basra, Iraq with travel requirement.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced GOC Completions Engineer (I&E) to join our Iraq Business Unit.

Wood has been awarded an Operations Readiness Project to support an International Client operation by providing Project Management, Completions and Handover, Start-up, and Operations Readiness advisory and support both within Iraq and Sharjah offices. The Vision of this Contract is to enhance the operation readiness by delivering advisory support to projects that include new installations as well as a series of modifications to the existing facilities. Team of Engineers, Advisors and Operators based in Sharjah and Basra supports in execution of these projects.

Key Objectives

As part of the Completions and Handover Group and reporting to the Completions & Handover Team Lead, the following key roles and responsibilities should be fulfilled by the GOC Completions Engineer (E&I). 
The main functions will be documentation reviews, data verifications and data uploads, vendor site visits and assistance with Inspection activities.

Expected:

Complete familiarity and experience in the use of a Completions System. Go Completions GoC preferred
Recognised Engineering qualification and / or a proven relative Industry experience in Completions and Handovers. Minimum 10 years’ experience
Strong Communication skills to present the GO Completions (GOC) System and Process to Contractors/Vendors and hold Completions and Handover Progress meetings with Contractors
Have a full understanding of Engineering drawings for all disciplines
Ability and experience to manage across all disciplines and diverse cultures
Has previously held a lead role in Completions and Handovers
Manage and support Discipline Inspectors on the Completions Process and ITR completion
Management and co-ordination of GOC construction and inspection activities
Fully conversant with the theory and implementation of Limits of System Handover (LOSH)
Understanding of Instrumentation Equipment, tubing connection systems and Calibration methods.
Understanding of Hazardous Area Equipment and Protection Concepts.
Familiar with International Codes and Standards
CompEx qualification is essential
Commissioning and Operation experience is desirable
Strong experience with electrical isolation and electrical safety concepts
