Wood is recruiting for a Commercial & Proposals Intern to join its Operations business in our Houston, TX office. Wood’s Operations business delivers solutions to an ever-broadening range of clients across the energy and materials industries globally. We deliver operations, maintenance, modifications, brownfield engineering, asset optimization and management, supporting our clients through the asset lifecycle. We are focused on developing strategic relationships with our clients, providing solutions that deliver efficiency, integrity and reliability.

Responsibilities
Typical Responsibilities
As a Commercial & Proposals Intern, you will gain exposure to several facets of these functions including:
Maximizing commercial performance while managing business/project risk (pre and post-contract)
Commercialization of a sub-Business Groups service offerings to support business growth and strategy
Ensure compliance with relevant commercial/contracting policies and embedding effective commercial governance and assurance across the business unit
Resolution of disputes/claims and cash collection issues
Pre-award activities including support to the tender governance process and proposals team
Timely submission of contracting policy approval requests, in conjunction with the Contracts function
Contract Administration in accordance with client contract(s) and Wood’s policies and procedures
Preparing invoices in a timely and accurate manner
Administration and/or development and maintenance of items such as Commercial Handovers and Plans, risk management processes, Bonds, etc.
Coordination of contract reviews
Information/data gathering and analysis required to support Wood’s assertive claims and/or defending claims against Wood

Desirable:
Bachelors degree in Law, Business or Quantity Surveying, or studying in these fields
Working knowledge and experience in Commercial administration and procedures
