Applications Engineer – PBU

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Pre-Sales ConsultantCreation and demonstration of technical proofs of concept and performance benchmarksCreation and presentation of materials for technical concept proposals with solution architecturesCollect customer requirements through technical discussionsCreation of proposals for system architectures and hardware/software configurationsQuick sales assistance, consulting, joint customer visits, web meetings, and conference callsCollaboration with Field AEs, Business Managers, and Sales to assist in uncovering business opportunitiesCollection of customer feedback and providing it to Business Managers and R&D team
• Solution and system deliveryEstimate engineering effort on customization and assist in technical risk assessment based on collected customer requirementsImplementing customer or DUT-specific work (HW/SW) and leading on-site commissioning activitiesConnect customers locally with our domain experts and delivery project team globallyEnable partners to be successful in execution of Partner prime opportunity
• Post-delivery SupportAssist with fixing and solving bugs on customized systems.Answer to query from users about our solutions, systems, and related applications.
• Demand GenerationLeverage technical and industry knowledge to position T&M Group NI and Portfolio Business Unit’s (PBU) to specific markets prioritized by the business lines through proactive demand generation activities. Cultivate positive relationships with Account Managers (AMs) & Business Development Managers (BDMs).Deliver actionable demand generation proposals advised by a deep technical understanding of targeted markets and mapping NI and PBU technical capabilities to market needs.
• Technical Content CreationBuild and demonstrate Proof of Concepts and performance benchmarks to support large sales opportunities.Develop compelling technical content (e.g., white papers, application notes, recordings).Collaborate with Marketing to build impactful collateral, including one-pagers, architecture diagrams, and workflow diagrams.Contribute to webinars, workshops, trainings, and industry events.

As an AE, you will demonstrate the capabilities of our platforms, validate the feasibility of solving customers’ technical challenges prior to purchase, and provide ongoing support to customers in building and optimizing their systems to fully realize the value of T&M Group solutions.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
• Ability to work independently but also in a team of global colleagues.
• Willingness and motivation to work closely in a business setting, facing customers.
• 2+ years of relevant shown experience in Software Engineering, Application Engineering, Test Solution Design, or ATE Test Development.
• Willing to travel domestically and abroad in support of project objectives. (On average, up to 25% of the work is encouraged to involve business travel, with occasional trips spanning an entire week.)
• One day of remote work per week is optional, with the minimum four days spent working in the office or at customer sites.
• Proficiency in Korean and English (both required for effective customer communication and user documentation in a global environment).
• Sales experience and/or industry experience in the Test & Measurement industry.
• Proven track record to use one or more programming languages (LabVIEW, C#, C++, Python, etc.) in software design and implementation with deep understanding of Software Engineering Body of Knowledge.
• Strong at debugging and solving sophisticated technical problems.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Familiarity with the Korean market, including local laws and industry trends in sectors like semiconductors, automotive, or electronics testing.
• Experience working with LabVIEW or similar programming languages, or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) technologies is a plus.
• NI LabVIEW and/or NI TestStand Certifications, or related tools are a plus
• Knowledge and experience of NI products such as PXI/cRIO-based modules, VeriStand, TestStand, etc. and Experience in customer-facing roles.
• Deep knowledge or strong background in technology (battery, motor, inverter), test automation, and measurement.
