FORI AUTOMATION IS A LINCOLN ELECTRIC COMPANY AND GLOBAL SUPPLIER OF WELDING, ASSEMBLY, MATERIAL HANDLING AND TESTING EQUIPMENT FOR BOTH AUTOMOTIVE AND NON-AUTOMOTIVE CUSTOMERS AROUND THE WORLD. FORI AUTOMATION FOCUSES ON DELIVERING COST-EFFECTIVE HIGHLY ENGINEERED PRODUCTS AND SYSTEMS THAT CAN BE DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED GLOBALLY WITH LOCALIZED SALES, PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE.

The candidate will work out of Fori’s Shelby Twp. Michigan facility and will report to the Controls Engineering Manager

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the controls activities of an assignedproject
• Review customer softwarespecifications
• Define the overall project software architecture for the basecontract
• Document softwarerequirements
• Develop project templates and engineeringdocuments
• Validate all software beforecommissioning
• Commission software on the equipment asrequired
• Develop and manage commissioning plans through validation and customer buyoff at Fori and the customer’splant
• Participate in the validation and buyoff of the software on theequipment
• Archive all completed engineering software designs, engineering documents, and lessonslearned
• Coordinate with Project Management regarding schedule, design concepts and other status information on areas ofconcern
• Attend project cross function teammeetings
• Represent all controls activities with the customer for the projectduration
• Participate in internal and external design reviews ofdeliverables
• Present and support all customer softwareapprovals
• Act as engineering liaison to manufacturing and field servicedepartments

Education & Experience

• Electrical engineering degree orequivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years ofexperience
• Ability to take the Controls Engineering Lead on aproject
• Strong programming knowledge and experience using RockwellPLC’s
• Knowledge of spot and MIG welding controlsystems
• Strong communication and leadershipabilities
• Controls system applicationknowledge
• Robot I/O interfacing. Basic operation knowledge of Fanuc, ABB, andMotoman
• Possible 50% travelrequirement
• US Passport and travel capability toCanada
