Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world.Wood is recruiting for a Technical Field Adviser to join its Operations business focusing on Power & Industrials. This opportunity is remote, with 60–80% travel to client sites across the U.S. and internationally.

The RoleAs Technical Field Adviser, you will support Wood’s Aftermarket Services Group by servicing utility and industrial power boiler and HRSG installations. You will conduct inspections, support installation outages, and troubleshoot equipment and structural issues related to plant operations. While on-site, you will engage with client teams, promote Wood’s products and services, and provide feedback to the home office on future opportunities. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilitiesPerform inspections of utility and industrial boilers and HRSG systems, including support structures, ductwork, pressure parts, drums, and attemperatorsSupport installation outages for Wood and competitor equipmentTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to plant operation and performanceConduct performance testing and tuning of boiler systemsInspect and assess coal pulverizer and burner/overfire systemsPromote Wood’s products and services while on-site and provide feedback to the home officePrepare detailed inspection reports and documentationMaintain strong client relationships and represent Wood professionally

It will take all of us working together to deliver solutions to the world’s most critical challenges.Expected:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; associate degree with 5 years of relevant experience or 7 years of experience may substituteMinimum 3–5 years of career experience, preferably in the power industryExperience in the commercial aspects of engineering, fabrication, and constructionProficient in reading boiler and equipment drawingsStrong documentation and report writing skillsSolid PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Willingness and ability to travel extensively (60–80%)Physical ability to access boiler and auxiliary equipment, including confined spaces and heightsAuthorization to work lawfully in the U.S. without sponsorship from WoodDesirable:Strong technical writing and presentation skillsExperience working with domestic and international clientsWillingness to expand skillset and grow within the role
