Wood is recruiting for a Subsea Pipeline Project Engineer to join the team focusing on subsea projects within our Technical Consulting Division on a contract basis. 

 

This role will be based in our Staines office with some hybrid working available.

The Role 

 

As a Subsea Pipeline Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of subsea pipeline systems. You will oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Typical Responsibilities 

 

Offshore risk champion supporting development and implementation of risk mitigation plans 

Accountable for MoC  

Offshore interface lead 

Support DESNZ engagement activities 

Support placement of offshore contracts as required (ILI, pipeline isolation tooling etc.) 

 

Qualifications

Expected: 

 

Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, preferably in mechanical, electrical or subsea engineering. 

Extensive experience in subsea engineering within the oil and gas industry 

Strong knowledge of subsea engineering principles, subsea systems, and relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ISO). 

Proficiency in using subsea engineering software tools, such as subsea design and analysis software. 

Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritise tasks, and deliver results within deadlines and budget constraints. 

Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and contractors. 

Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding innovative and practical solutions to complex subsea engineering challenges. 

Sound understanding of HSE regulations and a commitment to promoting a safe working environment. 

 

Desirable: 

 

Chartered engineer status preferred
