Key Responsibilities:
• Act as lead for the Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) Test Team, providing technical leadership, mentorship and guidance to team members, and take ownership for major projects.
• Develop and implement comprehensive PCBA test strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of printed circuit board assemblies.
• Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) analysis and prioritization to improve testing coverage.
• Develop PCBA level functional test requirements
• Support the creation and optimization of functional test fixtures, automated testing scripts, and systems for data acquisition and measurement.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of how PCBA interacts with its connected peripherals and subassemblies.
• Collaborate closely with the Electrical Engineering and Manufacturing teams to refine PCBA testing methods for implementation at Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and New Product Introductions (NPI). This includes deploying tests at CMs, training personnel, and providing ongoing support for any issues related to the tests.
Expected Outcomes:
• 3 months: Assess the existing PCBA test coverage and develop a strategic plan with prioritized actions to enhance testing coverage.
• 6-12 months: Take full ownership of executing the PCBA test strategy and implementing test fixtures at Contract Manufacturers (CMs).
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience with a BS or a minimum of 6 years’ experience with higher education is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
• Prior experience as a team lead.
• Prior experience driving and analyzing DFT and DFM for PCBAs.
• Prior experience developing functional test requirements.
• Prior experience with test fixture design for PCBA functional level tests
• Prior experience with Python scripting
• Understanding of PCBA manufacturing process and AOI, AXI, FP, and ICT testing.
• Ability to read schematics and perform electrical debug using oscilloscopes, DMMs, multi-meters, TDRs, VNA, spectrum analyzer etc. is required
• Proficiency in CAD tools for schematics and PCB layout and familiarity with microcontrollers and serial communication protocols (including I2C, SPI, etc.).
• Produce high quality documentation that is clearly understandable by internal and external personnel is required
• Experience developing electrical board level test and experience with instrumentation automation using scripting languages such as Python, Shell, Batch, Bash or Linux commands.
• Experience in Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Agile.
Preferred:
• Experience with PCBA design
• Familiarity with hardware design for brushless DC motors
• Experience working with EtherCAT, RS422/RS485, RS232, SSI, BiSS, USB and/or etc is preferred
• Experience in Medical Device Design Control for IEC 60601, CISPR 22, UL in an FDA environment and testing electronics
• Experience defining/developing on ICT/FCT testers with external vendors for printed circuit board testing
• Design for assembly and compliance

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $100,000 to $172,500. California Bay Area The anticipated base pay range for this position is $114,000 to $197,800.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. · Please use the following language:
