Wood is recruiting for an Site Manager to join our Project Development Engineering (PDE) team within our renewables consulting division. This role will be on a contract or staff basis and will be based on site in the Near Petras in Greece, for a period of 24 months. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Site Manager to join our team for a prominent wind farm project. As a Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the management of the wind farm construction, installation, commissioning, and ongoing operations. Your experience and management skills will contribute to the successful implementation and functioning of the wind farm. This is an ideal opportunity for a senior engineer looking to take the next step in their career. Someone with experience in Construction on wind farm sites.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities Management and Supervision Act on behalf of the employer as Owner’s Engineer on all project related matters Consult with stakeholders involved in the project, including Employer, Municipalities, Forestry, Transmission Operator etc Manage the progress of works, review schedules, hold regular weekly and monthly meetings with contractors and produce progress reports Manage the civil and electrical site engineers on site. Ensure that the engineers are aware of the project quality requirements, including inspection and testing obligations Manage the design review process, including the liaison with Wood discipline engineers Construction & Installation Collaborate with the contractors to develop detailed installation plans, schedules, and budgets Supervise the installation of all civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering works, including wind turbines, foundations, substations, infrastructure, power collection systems, and cabling Ensure compliance with Employer’s Requirements, codes, standards, and regulations during the construction process Ensure engineers are conducting regular inspections to verify the quality of installations and workmanship Commissioning Oversee the commissioning process of wind turbines and electrical systems, ensuring proper integration and functioning of components. Conduct functional tests and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the commissioning phase Coordinate with various teams to perform system integration tests and resolve any interlocking issues Operations & Maintenance Provide technical support for ongoing operations and maintenance activities of the wind farm Collaborate with the maintenance team to diagnose and rectify faults in a timely manner Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of electrical systems Develop and maintain documentation related to electrical systems, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guides Health & Safety Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to and enforcing safety protocols and guidelines Identify potential safety hazards related to electrical installations and take appropriate corrective actions Conduct safety training and ensure that all personnel working on electrical systems are well-informed about safety procedures Stakeholder Communication Consult with project managers, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth coordination of electrical activities Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and milestones to relevant stakeholders Technical Expertise Stay up to date with the latest advancements in wind turbine technology and electrical systems Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and propose innovative solutions to optimize system performance
Qualifications
