YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Are you passionate about shaping the future of control and monitoring devices in ABB’s Electrification business area? Do you thrive in a global, dynamic, and inclusive environment? Join our team as an R&D Professional in electronics hardware development (senior level also welcome) and help create the next generation of ABB products. In this role, you’ll contribute innovative ideas, address diverse customer requirements, and collaborate within a cross-functional, agile team embedded in a global network. We value motivated individuals with a hands-on approach and initiative to tackle today’s challenges. This position is graded according to local tariff standards. The work model for the role is: #hybrid Your main responsibilities include: • Design, develop, and implement analog and digital circuits, including schematics, PCB layout constraints, verification through simulation and prototype testing, and documentation for production handover. • Collaborate with product owners, system architects, and software developers to translate market needs into hardware requirements. • Monitor technology trends and identify drivers for R&D projects while aligning with ABB’s business objectives. • Manage hardware development activities, including risk assessment, target alignment, supplier coordination, and support for production engineering. • Contribute to intellectual property discussions by driving patent creation and participating in internal and external networks to expand expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
• M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a comparable field
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electronics development for embedded systems as a hardware design engineer
• Solid expertise in designing electronic circuits, creating circuit diagrams, and utilizing simulation tools
• Knowledge of EMC-compliant design is an advantage
• Willingness to travel internationally (<5%)
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) at C1 level is essential; German skills at B2 level are advantageous but not mandatory
