As aSenior Manufacturing Engineerat Emerson, you will be a core member of a team dedicated to creating world-class manufacturing processes within theActuation Technologies Business Unit.

Based in ourHouston, Texasfacility, you will drive strategic improvements in discrete assembly and functional test operations—focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost effectiveness. Your work will directly impact operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.

This highly visible role provides the opportunity to collaborate multi-functionally with operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, and product development teams, while leading initiatives that leverage Lean tools, sophisticated problem-solving, and hands-on shop floor engagement.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Own the design, development, and optimization ofassembly and test processesfor electro-mechanical product lines
• Establish and maintainstandard work procedures, line balancing, takt time-based flow, and other lean systems to improve throughput and reduce variability
• Conducttime studies, capacity assessments, and ergonomic evaluationsto improve work center performance and operator safety
• Champion and leadKaizen and continuous improvement events, targeting waste elimination and cycle time reduction
• Partner with Design Engineering to driveDesign for Manufacturability (DFM)and ensure smooth new product introductions
• Design and implementjigs, fixtures, and toolingto improve efficiency and product quality in low-volume, high-mix operations
• Implement and sustain5S, visual management, and mistake-proofing systemsacross the manufacturing floor
• Support root cause investigations for production issues and implement robustcorrective actions
• Identify and supportcapital investments and process changesthrough data-driven return on investment analysis
• Promote and support a culture of continuous learning and employee development aroundLean Manufacturing principles

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience indiscrete manufacturing, with a focus onassembly and test operations
• Strong background inLean Manufacturingwith practical experience applying tools such as standard work, value stream mapping, and visual management
• Proficiency in engineering tools includingAutoCAD, SolidWorks/Inventor, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Proven ability to lead improvement projects and drive measurable results
• Strong mechanical proficiency with hands-on experience supporting factory operations
