Engineering Manager

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you have pharma and automation experience, and would you like a leading role where you have the technical responsibility for projects in the largest expansion of pharma production facilities in Danish history? Do you also want to utilize all of your experience and ideas and influence not only your own projects, but also the technological solutions? Now is your time to act, because ABB is your gateway to a world of opportunities. Your focus will be automation projects for new production lines all the way from design to handover to the customer. The projects typically take from 6 months to 3 years, and you will be involved in 1-3 projects at a time. You and your project team of 3-5 application/project engineers will be responsible for a pharma production area. As Lead Engineer, you are technically responsible and also responsible for quality assurance with associated documentation. You are the one who translates the customer’s requirements into functional specifications that you primarily delegate, coordinate and quality-assure, but you also work hands-on. Your responsibilities: • Participate in all phases of pharma automation projects from design to final handover • Be technically responsible and quality assure project deliveries • Prepare and/or approve functional specifications for specific sub-tasks • Develop applications (PLC/HMI) – mostly supportive, but also hands-on • Plan and participate in test activities (FAT/SAT) • Coordinate and delegate tasks and provide technical support to colleagues in the team • Report on project status to the technical project manager

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• A technical education such as engineer or marine engineer
• Experience within pharma and thus understanding of GMP, processes, batch control and validation requirements
• Experience with PLC programming – we’ll teach you ABB’s 800xA if you don’t know it
• Motivation to support and guide less experienced colleagues with different backgrounds
• Overview and ability to set direction, manage and coordinate
• Motivation and ability to document systematically
• Good English skills – the team is international and the everyday language is English

You will be part of our relatively newly established Pharma Engineering. We are an international group of currently approx. 20 project engineers in Denmark. In addition, we draw on 20-40 colleagues from the global ABB organization. You will be the technical lead for a project team of 3-5 engineers, some in Denmark and some abroad. You must, among other things, take the lead in creating the right ABB spirit, where colleagues want to help each other, share knowledge and have fun together. Whether you want to be based in Ballerup, Kalundborg or Middelfart is entirely up to you, as long as you are ready to be at least one day a week with the customer in Bagsværd and/or Kalundborg – and daily during periods of test activities.
