Engineering Manager I

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. The work model for the role is: Hybrid {#LI-Hybrid} This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business Area, and it’s Process Industries division in Chile. The main stakeholders for this role are the internal Sales and Operations teams, as well as external clients from the Mining segment. You will be mainly accountable for: • Responsibility for the technical coordination with internal engineering team, suppliers of equipment & services, others disciplines and other stakeholders involved in the project. • Finding, proposing and executing technical solutions that guarantees the right integration between electrical, automation, civil and mechanical specialties for the assigned projects. • Providing technical support for installation and testing stages, creating work plans and controlling project costs within your assigned scope. • Participating and leading commissioning activities at the customer sites. • Reviewing and approving scope, budget and schedule for assignments and ensures all electrical power systems/supplies are delivered on time and within targeted costs. • Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations. • Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects Our team dynamics You will join a team that works collaboratively on all tasks, with each person having a clear understanding about their assigned work and those which they’re responsible, accountable, consulted and informed about.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• You are an Electrical Engineer with experience working with Low and Medium Voltage electrical power systems, and Electrical Rooms engineering, manufacturing, installation and testing related to the electrical discipline.
• You have over 8 years of experience performing installation engineering (including but not limited to cabling, ground grids, lighting, lightning, and MV overhead lines).
• You are able to make electrical studies such as load flow, short circuit, demand study, arch flash, protection coordination, among others.
• You have experience in Electrical Rooms, installation and infrastructure engineering, as well as possess desirable knowledge in air conditioning, pressurization and firefighting systems design.
• Desirable knowledge in ETAP/Digsilent Softwares, MV Rectifiers, and low and medium voltage Variable Frequency Drives (VDF).
• You can communicate independently in Spanish, able to hold conversations without assistance required, as well as feeling at ease communicating in English (“advanced” level)
• You are willing to travel inside and outside the country for work-related purposes.
