YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for simulation-oriented Design Engineer at ABB Oy, System Drives division. System Drives is further investing in drive system development into different fields of applications (e.g. hydrogen production) and thus strengthening its design organization. Look no further – we have an interesting opportunity for you! Selected person will work in the power electronics design group and will be located in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, Finland. Members of the power electronics design group are responsible for main circuit and power electronics design in various product development projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to deep-dive with world-class technology in demanding projects as a part of highly skilled team. In addition, you will have the opportunity to further your career in a global company. Role is adjustable according to your profile and earlier experience. The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: • Dimensioning and designing the main circuit and power electronics of frequency converters • Developing and maintaining of simulation models • Specifying and overseeing verification tests and analyzing results • Creating and maintaining design documentation including e.g. design descriptions, dimensioning calculations, component specifications and verification reports, for own responsibility area • Research of new components and topologies • Co-operating with subcontractors You will join a talented, high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
• It is essential that you possess an enhanced experience in simulation and knowledge of simulation softwares, e.g. Matlab and Ansys products
• Ability to demonstrate your established skills and design experience of electrical drives’ main circuit components is essential
• It is relevant that you are highly skilled in product development of power electronics
• M.Sc. in power electronics or in a related field is essential
• You are at ease in communicating in English, both written and spoken. Finnish is a plus
• Knowledge of industrial electrical installations, wind turbine drivetrains, electrolyzers, fuel cells and/or DC grids is beneficial
• You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and you enjoy collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
