Job Description

Wood Process & Energy is recruiting an experienced Senior C&I Designer on a minimum 12-month contract duration, based from our office at Stockton/ Hull.
Hybrid working structure with a minimum of 2 days in the office. Remote working is possible but occasionally travel to the office/ client site when required

Responsibilities

Provide Senior Instrument Design on projects as required by the C&I Discipline Manager / Lead Engineer / Designer as a Senior C&I DesignerExecute instrument design activities (Concept, FEED & Detailed Design)Carry out Site surveys as required under the project Instrument scopeAssessing the effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systemsCarry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systemsMaintain the required technical quality of workIdentify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control ProcessEnsure that designs comply with the relevant procedures, standards and regulationsEnsure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and scheduleKeep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the disciplineResponsible for delivering Instrument design project work scope as required to desired quantityMaintain good communication with the Client and visit Assets when necessary Join a culture of innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is possible to seek the best solutions for our clients.What we can offerMeaningful and interesting projects delivered to leaders of industry across emerging energy sectors Flexible working arrangements that balance client, team and individual needs offering hybrid and remote working where relevant Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion; we are an organisation actively committed to diversity and inclusion across our businessGlobal connections: join experts around the world who are at the leading edge of our industry, shaping the standards of our profession

At Wood, we understand and acknowledge that everyone is different, and we are committed to equal opportunities and want to access all the talent that is out there.  We are committed to attracting a broad range of skills, knowledge and experiences and embrace differences.Who we are looking for:Minimum HNC in Instrument Engineering or related subjectExperience with working on projects for the Energy, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Refining SectorsExperience with working within a project team as a Senior C&I designer and on C&I teams across a range of industry sectors. on Small, Medium / Large capital projects from concept to start-upBe a Self-motivated team player working on own initiative with minimal supervisionExperience with development of Instrument Design deliverables as required on a project-by-project basisGood understanding with respect to applicable international codes and standards and their applicationHigh level of competency with respect to AutoCAD 2D (required) and AVEVA PDMS E3D (desirable) softwareExperience of managing, checking and delivering of the following deliverables – Cable Block diagrams, Instrument schedules, Cable and Drum Schedules, Layout and Routing Drawings, Support & Transit Drawings, MTO Schedules, Standard installation details, Termination Drawings, Panel and JB General Arrangement Drawings, Instrument Earthing and Power Distribution Drawings, Hook-up Drawings, Loop Drawings, Workpacks, SOW documents, Label & Furrule SchedulesStrong understanding of plant design and equipment layout and ability to coordinate with other discipline design groups to progress a joined-up plant designLiaising with other disciplines as requiredCoordination and governance of Instrument workpacks for high-value engineering centre If all of this sounds good, follow the link to apply and start your journey with Wood!
