JOB TITLE: RELIABILITY ENGINEER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working across Petrofac’s portfolio of operated and duty held assets, the role is accountable for providing centralised direction and expertise to achieve an overall improvement in reliability.
• Taking the lead in improving operational efficiency providing the technical infrastructure and expertise in Operability, Availability and Reliability of equipment across all spheres in on and offshore operations.
• The role will have a cross discipline approach and will be supported by the respective SME’s and Technical Authorities.
• Provide expertise and lead equipment RCA’s, investigations and manage the Production Loss Management systems/database.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner to comply with legislative and PMFL requirements.
• ‘Provide short, medium and long term technical support as required across the portfolio with fault diagnosis and remedial action plans for instrumentation and control equipment and systems.
• Ensures robust plans are in place for assigned stand-alone activity sets.
• Through analysis and solutions make significant contributions to drive down greenhouse gas /carbon emissions to support a “net zero” target.
• Ensure by audit that all documentation relevant to the function are maintained in accordance with operational procedures, safety principles and legal requirements.
• Monitor the performance of asset PE and uptime providing recommendations to address reliability issues.
• Production of regular performance reports.
• Review and optimise planned maintenance programme to meet statutory requirements lead industry best practice.
• Routine audit of the CMMS to ensure maintenance history is of a suitable quality and accuracy of PM/PMA periodicity and estimates.
• Establish and own the equipment Lifecycle management process
• Complete regular offshore visits to directly support offshore operations and investigations.
• Proactively drive Root Cause Analysis and resultant action close out.
• Ensuring Operational Integrity is being maintained across all assets, and that risks resulting from activities/impaired equipment and systems are being managed in line with Maintenance Policy.
• Ensuring Reliability activities and systems are relevant, optimised, and consistent to meet business requirements, driving down actual or potential production losses.
• Identifying opportunities and solutions to improve equipment reliability, driving down, actual or potential production losses.
• Use CMMS to carry out downtime reviews, identify bad actors common mode failure, trend analysis, MTBF, MTTR, optimise PMR’s and generate recommendations accordingly.
• Lead/Carry out/participate in 5 WHY/RCA, FMECA, RCM/Maintenance Strategy Reviews, Reliability Improvement Reviews/projects, CBM/CM Reviews.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Educated to HNC/HND or equivalent in a core discipline.
• Competent in Maintenance Management Systems.
• Conversant in Root Cause Analysis methods.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of an organisation.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic when working as part of a team or on own initiative.
• Demonstrable understanding of risk and life cycle management.
• Practical operational/offshore experience required.
