Wood is currently seeking expressions of interest for an experienced and can-do Projects Manager to lead the delivery of a major capital works program in Portland, Victoria.

The Role
This role oversees multi-discipline brownfield construction and maintenance works, providing end-to-end project leadership, coordination and supervision in a live operational environment.
The successful candidate will hold a Cert IV in Project Management and bring a strong background in managing diverse trades, subcontractors, and client interfaces to ensure safe, timely and cost-effective execution of industrial projects.
This is pivotal onsite role, responsible for managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects from concept through to commissioning, ensuring safety, quality, and commercial outcomes are achieved.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of capital projects, ensuring alignment with the client’s operational and strategic goals
Manage project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget
Oversee project planning, scheduling, cost control, procurement, and risk management
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration
Coordinate multiple trade disciplines including SMP, electrical & Instrumentation and civil
Manage scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation in line with client expectations
Interface with client representatives, engineers, HSE, and QA/QC personnel
Oversee construction activities, work fronts, and subcontractor performance
Prepare and maintain project documentation including lookaheads, reports, and cost tracking
Ensure compliance with the Client site systems, permits, and safety protocols
Identify and manage project risks, change requests, and stakeholder communications
Qualifications

Ideally you will have:
5–10+ years’ experience managing multi-discipline projects in heavy industrial or brownfield environments
Proven experience in managing large-scale capital projects in heavy industry, mining, or energy sectors.
Demonstrated experience leading teams and delivering works safely in live plant conditions
Strong understanding of construction and maintenance practices across SMP and E&I trades
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline. Certificate IV in Project Management (minimum)
Proven ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, and project reporting requirements
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
PMP or equivalent certification highly regarded.
Must be available to work onsite in Portland, Victoria
Candidates must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
