Project Engineer (Skid Design Engineer)

Job Summary:

Based in our Mahindra World City facility, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu. The design engineer will be responsible to Lead & manage projects Responsible for the preparation/consolidation of Basic Engineering documents PID, GAD, Equipment Data Sheet, etc., and timely submission to the client.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Reading the tender requirements as defined by client and listing out the deliver results
• Responsible for preparation/consolidation of Basic Engineering documents (DCI, PID, GAD, Sizing, Equipment Data Sheet, etc.), and timely submission of documents to client.
• Prepare error free skid buyout BOM and piping material BOM
• Entering part codes against the BOM & Uploading BOM to Oracle within agreed timeline
• Possess knowledge on piping design, valves, Filter/strainer, regulators, control valves and other components.
• Good knowledge in ASME B31.3, B31.8, API 520, and related Piping its component-related international standards is desired.
• Close co-ordination with drawing contractor for timely preparation & completion of error free BOM, P&ID, GAD & ISO drawings.
• Responsible in drafting and design of all drawings such as P&ID, General Arrangements Drawing, Isometrics, Piping layouts, Piping constructions drawings, Structure & Pipe support detail drawings, 2D and 3D Modeling etc., using Cadworx Plant Professional 2017. Hands-on experience is preferred for 2D and 3D modelling.
• Responsible for optimization of design & ensure deliverable are within budget
• Preparation of Mechanical Components Purchase Specifications, Data Sheets, and all Project Documents.
• Work in close collaboration with other Teams members, Factories, Suppliers and Customers, throughout the complete process of Skid Execution, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Commissioning.
• Responsible for closure of all punch points which are arise as part of third party & customer inspection
• Reporting of the day today activities to the manager and Supervising the deliverables, vendor offers, and constant follow up with vendors/buyer for clearing the offers/GAD.
• Support the proposal activities, aid in standardization of documents (client documents, datasheets).
• Should be willing to travel as and when required to client place for approvals or vendor/contractor place.
• Should be able to handle work pressure and flexible for working extended hours.
• Hands on experience in design of regulating skids is an added advantage
• Should be energetic, inquisitive, proactive, and enthusiastic person to learn and grow.
• Good in communication.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Should have knowledge in Auto CAD , CADWORKS, STAAD.Pro and other design software
• Good in written and spoken English communication with both internal and external customers
• Fundamental technical knowledge on Piping Codes, Standard & PNGRB Codes.
• Proficient in problem-solving with internal and external teams
• Fundamental knowledge of safety standard process.
• Should able to read, write and understand engineering drawings, P&ID, etc.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Graduate in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7-8 years Engineering experience in Piping, Process in Oil and Gas Industry
• Awareness of Oil & Gas Industry, City Gas Distribution network, and Work Experience with Gas Industry Customers.
• Experience in working with consultants like EIL, MECON, Lyons, Tractebel, and customers like GAIL, Gail Gas, MGL, MGNL, IGL, Adani, Torrent etc.,
• Work with Oracle ERP will be an added advantage
