We’re working with a well-established global engineering organisation, looking to bring aProject Engineerwith strong project controls and cost engineering experience into a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing clarity to complex, high-value projects across the energy and industrial sectors.
As a Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering accurate and insightful cost estimates throughout the full project lifecycle—from early concept through to full execution. Your work will shape project planning, timelines, and strategic decision-making.
What You’ll Be Doing
Cost Estimation
• Develop cost estimates for projects at various stages: conceptual, preliminary, and definitive.
• Analyse technical documentation and specifications to propose cost-effective solutions.
• Drive cost optimisation strategies for improved project delivery.
Cost Reporting & Monitoring
• Produce clear and comprehensive cost reports, forecasts, and budget updates.
• Track project expenditures and resolve variances proactively.
Risk & Schedule Integration
• Conduct risk assessments and create mitigation plans for potential cost overruns.
• Work with planning teams to ensure cost data aligns with project schedules and key milestones.
Benchmarking & Analysis
• Carry out benchmarking exercises using internal data and industry standards.
• Provide insight and recommendations to maintain competitiveness and improve accuracy.
• Perform data analysis to support estimation and strategic planning.
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Act as the go-to person for cost-related insights within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders to ensure financial clarity across the board.
What We’re Looking For
• 3 to 15 years’ experience in project engineering, cost estimation, or project controls.
• Previous experience in the energy, manufacturing, petrochemical, chemical, or power sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (any discipline).
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on cost estimating or project controls experience.
• Skilled in using cost engineering software (e.g., ACCE or similar).
• Familiar with forecasting, planning, and performance reporting techniques.
• Analytical and detail-oriented mindset, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulatory environments.
