The candidate for this position will be responsible for supporting process development and technology transfer of fill/finish manufacturing processes of biotherapeutic products. They will also work and partner with colleagues in MSAT, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and other functions to ensure the implementation of manufacturing processes that meet all regulatory requirements and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support late-stage process development, technology transfer, process validation, and filing activities both to and between manufacturing sites
• Support best product and process at launch, right first time and other process development and technology transfer harmonization/optimization initiatives
• Design and execute laboratory studies to support process and equipment characterization, analyze results, and report/present findings to project and function leads
• Work closely with the formulations, primary container, and device teams to ensure end to end process alignment
• Partner with MSAT, Manufacturing Site leads, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and other functions for flawless introduction of manufacturing processes into internal or external production sites

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar) is required.

Experience and Skills:

• Minimum of 3 or more years of experience with (M.S) or (B.S./B.A) with a minimum of 4 or more years of experience (including relevant academic research experience) in the biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing area is required.
• Demonstrated ability to design and execute laboratory experiments and analyze results (including statistical analysis, DOE) is required.
• Ability to clearly present research and development findings and results through technical documents as well as presentations to peers and management.
• Ability to influence and collaborate in matrixed teams to deliver high quality results with considerations of the bigger picture.
• Motivated, self-starter able to work independently and with demonstrated problem-solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of drug substance and/or drug product process development is preferred.
• Knowledge of engineering scaling principles with the ability to apply knowledge to technology transfer is preferred.
• Travel: 5-10% – project dependent
